Sunday, August 10, 2008 Where I belong
I've more or less wasted yesterday and today away, so it's time to get myself off my butt tomorrow and get to work. But well, just a little bit about what's been going on in school of late. Yesterday, we had national day celebrations and I shall not comment on anything other than community singing. It was fun and it sort of meant something I guess seeing as that it's right after Space camp where Isaac and I decided to sing national day songs for the people there. (: And it is very different singing it to others, it means quite alot more when you sing lines like: "I want the whole world to know, I wanna shout it out loud, that this is where I know I belong."
"This is my country, this is my flag, this is my future, this is my life. This is my family, these are my friends, we are Singapore, Singaporean. Furthermore, for community singing, I was standing between renee and john, and with yiwei and maehwee, so there were other lines in the songs that made plenty of sense too, and when you think about how although it's all so tough, at the end of the day like john says, "everything I know is here". Today was spent at NUS doing a little bit of research work, and then talking to Mr. Lim and zy about life. Then left for the heng's for dinner. :D Good fun as usual. Ate so much good durian! My favourite photo from space camp:  Remember the days, we set out together with faith?Remember the times, so fine, when we thought that Nothing could stand in our way? Then things weren't the same, the life that we knew had to change We've struggled through, the darkest storms We thought we couldn't tame Together we've tried, as we stood side by side I knew we'd build a new world A world of hope for ever after. I guess it's not just nation building.  Oh and olympics opening was wow. well done china! :D and of course, a very happy birthday singapore. this is where I know I belong. Goodnight!
