take me to the sky
Thursday, October 18, 2007 Is this growing up?
Tomorrow I hand over the art club to the next president. Hand overs don't seem to mean much here. I realised that I no longer feel the resentment I used to feel, now it's more of just, yeah, this needs improving, and change takes time. I guess this is why they say the school matters, it's true that learning 1+1 everywhere is the same, but that's the point isn't it. school and life isn't just learning about 1+1. Been thinking about what I've done as the president, and sadly I think I was as bad as presidents get. I used to think that a good leader would be able to lead anybody, but I realised that ultimately, it's only if everyone wants to work towards a common goal that anything can get down. No wonder Mr Wong always asked us whether we wanted to win. I guess it all kind of makes sense now. I guess I lacked vision and direction as a leader. Went to whack shuttles after school today. Felt really good. Thanks yangxuan. (: Honestly, I find it really quite weird that when I felt that I really didn't know where to go to let things out, my legs naturally brought me to the hall. And as with mostly when school was getting tough, and I was happy just letting it out on a shuttlecock, I couldn't help but wonder whether the struggles with the art club was worth it, whether I should have just stayed in my comfort zone playing badminton. I came to such a conclusion: If I only stayed on playing badminton cause I thought it'd be easier, then I'm nothing but a useless coward. What's more, I don't wanna end up hating the sport. (: As to whether the struggles are worth it, I'm not too sure, but I choose to think they are. sigh. sigh for everything that's happening.
A big big thanks to these people (: layout by: hilary header by: sealedcards
